New York-based David Energy, an electricity supplier aimed at helping customers shift power usage to reduce costs, announced $19 million in funding, including a $4.1 million seed round led by Equal Ventures along with $15 million in additional financing led by Hartree Partners.
SplashLearn, an edtech company focused on learning through games, has raised $18 million in a Series C round led by OWL Ventures. The company, which is headquartered in San Francisco and has a large team in India, plans to grow headcount by 30 to 40 percent this year.
Boston-based beam organics, a maker of THC-free CBD and wellness products, landed $5 million in a Series A financing led by The Yard Ventures and Litani Ventures. The company also launched a new drink line called Elevate, a powdered stick hydration mix that is the first non-CBD wellness product category for the brand.
SoftBank Group’s Vision Fund unit rebounded from a loss to record an $8 billion fiscal third-quarter profit. Returns were boosted by SoftBank-backed firms that carried out hot, high valuation public offerings, including food delivery app DoorDash and real estate buying platform Opendoor.
