The Indian government does not agree with the suggestion made by the Facebook's Global Executive Nick Clegg on the original source of WhatsApp messages.

According to sources, Clegg proposed that he is ready to act on such messages that the law enforcement agencies have objected to. But, the government wants the company to inform the original source of every message (where a message is written for the first time).

Facebook and the Indian government have been in talks for a long time about the information of the original source. Facebook says this will violate its privacy rules and end to end encryption.

An official associated with the company's stand on the matter, however, said that the company cannot read WhatsApp messages, as they are encrypted.

It is also being said that Nick Clegg met Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval, IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on this issue.
